    Reinventing the wheel

    5 years ago, in November 2021, when the Covid pandemic was in full swing and everybody tried to stay home, I was both studying and working fully remotely. Suddenly, I had regained much time of my week by not having to commute. Lectures could suddenly be skipped without anybody noticing, they could be consumed in double speed while staying in bed. Everyday habits were broken and new ones emerged.

In practice, Git is most often used in combination with a hosting platform, such as GitHub or GitLab. While these platforms often simplify a developer's life and increase visibility they can also be limiting in ways.

    I like Rust

    If you were to ask me what my favourite programming language is, my answer would be Rust. For the majority of projects I'd prefer Rust to any other language I know. This is not because I simply like the syntax of Rust, but because with Rust I can write code quickly and with confidence that it will work. More so than with any other language.

    Experience with Atlassian

    For the last four years I've been working in a team where we developed apps for Atlassian products. Maybe you haven't heard of Atlassian but you probably know their products Jira and Confluence. Both can be extended with apps from the Atlassian Marketplace. In this post, I'll share how both user and developer experience felt to me and our team. And to be honest, it wasn't very great.
